Downtown Snow Load Out Occurring Thursday March 16, 2017

Beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday March 16, 2017, Public Works crews will be removing the accumulated snow piles from the downtown area. The below map details their routes within all the downtown streets, including anticipated timeframes of their work. As shown, this work will carry on throughout the evening. Public Works have placed postage on various parking downtown and asks the community to cooperate in getting their vehicles off the streets or face being ticketed and towed. Accessing the Hanover Garage and other City lots, to ensure this work is done as efficiently as possible. Similar to when a parking ban is in effect, residents can place their vehicles in Hanover Garage on Sunday at a $3 flat fee rate.

  • Once a Snowban is declared the following Parking Lots are Available During Snowstorms
  • City residents may park in the High-Hanover Parking Facility for $3 during snow emergencies and snow removals. All residents need to do is present a valid driver's license or vehicle registration with a Portsmouth address to the booth attendant on exiting the parking garage. Vehicles may be parked at the facility up from a declared parking ban advanced notice until two hours after its official conclusion.
