Thursday July 19 | 7 PM

Portsmouth Public Library

And join us for The Biology of Addiction, Tuesday July 17 at 7 PM!

On Thursday, July 19, Portsmouth Public Library will host Ask A Person in Recovery Anything. Join our diverse group of panelists to ask anything of folks in recovery from substance use! No topic is off limits. The Seacoast community will have an opportunity to engage in a respectful, moderated conversation with their neighbors in recovery.

Panelists will speak from personal experience and answer questions about recovery, identity, stigma, family, discrimination, advocacy and health. They will represent a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and models for recovery. Open to all!

Ask a Person in Recovery anything will be moderated by Vanessa Levin, MCP. Vanessa is a Master's Level Counseling Psychologist with Addiction Recovery Services in Portsmouth. She has been in the health and human services for over 15 years. She specializes in Addictions, Grief and Loss, Eating Disorders, Anxiety and Depression. Beyond Counseling, Vanessa has continued a successful career in teaching yoga, barre, Pilates, meditation, and personal training. She also maintains a therapeutic massage practice for pre and post op surgeries, cancer treatment, grief/loss, body dysmorphia, and athletic conditioning. John Iudice, director of Addiction Recovery Services, will also be present.

Curious about the latest scientific understanding of addiction and substance use? Join us for a companion lecture with Vanessa, The Biology of Addiction, Tuesday July 17 at 7 PM!
