to Hold Public Hearing on Future Land Use in City
Portsmouth began work on the city's Master Plan in January 2003 and, earlier this summer, the Draft Goals, Objectives & Strategies section of the Master Plan was released by the Planning Board for public review and comment. The Draft Master Plan was developed based on input the Planning Board received from residents, businesses, City boards and commissions, the Portsmouth Listens study circles and other stakeholders. The Final Master Plan is expected to be complete this fall.
The Planning Board is responsible for both the development and the adoption of the Master Plan as outlined in state statutes. Implementation of specific Master Plan recommendations will occur through City Council approval of changes to local regulations, as well as through Council funding decisions.
