This year's theme is a "Celebration of Lights" in honor of the Memorial Bridge.
The Tree Lighting ceremony begins at 5 p.m. in Market Square with music from the Portsmouth Middle School Band, concluding at 5:30 p.m. with the official tree lighting. The Holiday Parade begins at 6 p.m. from Plaza 800 and travels a route through downtown to the South Mill Pond parking lot. To see the route, click here.
Only vendors holding a City of Portsmouth license will be allowed, and each individual vendor must display his or her own license. For an application and rules, click here.
Please note these important deadlines:
- Tuesday, November 12 - Deadline for floats, flatbed trailers and towed trailers. A representative for these entries, and any entry carrying someone outside a vehicle cab, must attend the Parade Safety meeting November 13 at 6:30pm at the Portsmouth Police Station - 1 Junkins Avenue (see special rules for floats/towed trailers in the application).
- November 18 - Deadline for other entries. A $25 late fee must accompany applications as of November 19.
- November 26 - No applications accepted after this date.
