On Friday, January 18, 2008 at 4:35 PM, the following individual was arrested
in Worcester, Massachusetts by the Massachusetts State Police as a result of a warrant :

Charges: Dissemination of Matter Harmful to a Minor (5 Counts).
Attempt to Commit a Crime to wit Enticement of a Child Under
the Age of Sixteen (2 Counts).
On Friday, January 18, 2008 the Massachusetts State Police completed an arrest warrant for the above named individual. The warrant was sought subsequent to an investigation initiated by a Cyber Tipline report authored by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Massachusetts State Police Digital Evidence and Multimedia Section and also the Massachusetts Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The Cyber Tipline report had been generated by a reporting party detailing the online enticement of a child for sexual acts by the user of a specific screen name. The investigation expanded to include a previous online undercover operation conducted by Detective Kristyn Bernier of the Portsmouth, New Hampshire Police Department. As a result of Detective Bernier’s investigation, she had identified the same suspect involved in the enticement of a child and the dissemination of matter harmful to a minor.
Detective Bernier was able to establish the physical identity of the user of the suspect screen name as the above named individual. Further investigation revealed that while communicating with the reporting party of the Cyber Tipline report, Simoncini had again disseminated matter harmful to a child.
Evidence was seized at Simoncini’s residence, and he was transported to Mass. State Police headquarters in Worcester where he was processed. Bail was set at $2,500. cash.
This arrest is the result of ongoing collaborative investigations conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces nationwide. The Portsmouth Police Department is the lead agency for the New Hampshire ICAC Task Force.
