Reference: Scrap metal arrests
On Monday, June 30th, 2008 at 2:30 AM, Officer Erik Widerstrom, while on patrol and conducting property checks, came across the following two individuals at the Port City Chrysler dealership located at 155 Greenleaf Avenue. They were identified as:
Gerald T. Gagne
Date of birth 01/13/69 and
Daniel K. Cole
Date of birth 02/08/78.
Both men reside at 21 Deering Avenue, Apt. B
Saco, Maine.
Both men were arrested and charged with:
Attempted Theft (class A Misdemeanor),
Criminal Trespass (Violation).
Additionally, the truck that they were driving was seized as evidence. Through investigation at the scene, it was determined that the two arrestees had started to take scrap metal from a dumpster behind the dealership without permission to do so.
Both arrestees were processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and later released on $5,000 personal recognizance (Gagne) and $10,000 personal recognizance bail (Cole) for a July 21st, 2008 arraignment date in Portsmouth District Court.
