Reference: Arrest of registered sex offender

On Friday, August 22, 2008 at 9:45 AM, the following individual was arrested by the Portsmouth Police Department as a result of an arrest warrant:

21 Brewster Street, Apt. 22
Portsmouth, N.H.

Mr. Paul was taken into custody at the Portsmouth City Hall. He was arrested by the Portsmouth Police Department for:

Prohibition from Child Care Services of Persons Convicted of Certain Offenses (Felony).

Mr. Paul is a public registered sex offender, having been convicted of two counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault in Rockingham Superior Court in February of 1987. This current criminal charge stems from an investigation that alleges that Mr. Paul was in a caretaking role of two minor children at a Portsmouth residence on August 15th, 2008.

Mr. Paul was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and is currently being held pending arraignment today at the Portsmouth District Court, where cash bail will be requested.
