Reference: Fatal motorcycle accident on Corporate Dr.
On May 1st, 2007 at 11:35am, the Portsmouth Police Department received 911 phone calls advising of a serious motorcycle accident on Corporate Dr. near International Dr. on the Pease Tradeport. Responding with the Portsmouth Fire Department and Ambulance, first responding officers confirmed initial reports. Portsmouth Fire and Ambulance crew members began administering emergency first aid to those involved.
Preliminary investigation showed that a
2004 Honda ST-1300 motocycle color blue
David A. Copestakes age 50
of Barrington, N.H.
was traveling southerly on New Hampshire Ave. A
2002 F-550 Dump Truck color white (belonging to Elf's Landscaping)
Corey Dubois age 27
of Farmington, N.H.
was backing out of a parking spot on to Corporate Dr. in order to head in a southerly direction as well. The motorcycle collided with the rear of the dump truck on Corporate Dr. David Copestakes suffered severe internal injuries as a result of this accident and was brought to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he eventually succumbed to those injuries. David Copestakes was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. Corey Dubois did not receive injuries in this accident.
The Portsmouth Police Department's Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene to reconstruct the events of this accident. It is too early to determine, at this time, a causal factor of this fatal collision. This incident is currently under investigation by the Portsmouth Police AIT in conjunction with the Rockingham County Attorney's Office.
