Reference: Internet solicitation arrest

On Monday, May 15th, 2006 at approximately 2:20 PM, the Portsmouth Police Department arrested:
Michael R. Holmes
Date of birth 07/20/82
203 Lafayette Road, Apt. 67A
North Hampton, NH
Mr. Holmes was arrested in Portsmouth for one count of Certain Uses of Computer Services Prohibited, contrary to NH RSA 649-B: 4, a class B felony. A vehicle driven by Mr. Holmes was also seized and impounded at the Portsmouth Police Department. A search was subsequently executed at his residence where evidence associated with this investigation was seized.
This arrest was the result of an investigation by the Northern New England Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The Portsmouth Police Department is the founding partner of this task force, which is grant funded through the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. It identifies persons who are attempting to solicit and/or exploit children on-line. Members of the Bureau of Investigative Services and the Bureau of Patrol Services for the Portsmouth Police Department worked in conjunction on this arrest.
Mr. Holmes was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department and at this time he is being held on $10,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth District Court tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM.
