Reference: Burglary and Sexual Assault Arrest
Date of Release: August 21, 2006
On August 21, 2006 at approximately 2:30 AM the Portsmouth Police Department received a call from a woman who stated that an unknown male subject entered her home and sexually assaulted her. She was able to fight off her assailant and call the police. With a good description of the suspect, patrol officers canvassed the area and within an hour identified and arrested:
Christopher A. Hemingway
Date of Birth 12/02/71
Hemingway has no fixed address
Hemingway was found walking several blocks away from the scene. He is being charged with Burglary and Sexual Assault. Bail was set at $50,000 Cash and he will be arraigned at the Portsmouth District Court on Monday morning August 21, 2006 at 9:00 AM. The victim was not injured during this incident.
