
Motor Vehicle Accident, Demoulas Market Basket, Woodbury Ave

On September 27, 2007 at 1351hrs, the Portsmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to the Market Basket Parking Lot on Woodbury Ave for a 4 car accident in which a pedestrian was struck.
Initial investigation shows

Age 92
Rt 1
Cape Neddick, Maine
was backing up her blue Ford Escort. Her foot apparently slips off the brake pedal and she steps on the gas pedal. Her car runs into a 41 year old male who is loading groceries into his car. This adult male (we are not naming him at this time) was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital for non life threatening injuries after being pinned between his car and Freeman’s car.
The blue Ford Escort (Freeman’s car) continues and then strikes 2 other parked mini vans before it can go no further. A by stander who sees this accident happen, comes to Freeman’s car and assists in shutting the car off. No other injuries were reported. No charges have been filed at this time.
This accident is still under investigation by Officer Colby of the Portsmouth Police Department.
