Reference: Burglary

The Portsmouth Police Department is investigating a burglary that took place some time between 7:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2007, and early Monday, November 19, 2007 at the Federal Cigar Store, located at 22 Ladd Street in downtown Portsmouth.

On Monday, November 19, 2007 at 6:20 AM, the Portsmouth Police Department responded to the store when an employee found a door open. It was discovered at that time that the door had been kicked in and items were taken from inside. Detectives also responded and processed the scene. At this time, we are not publicly disclosing what specific items were taken, so that the investigation is not compromised.
