Reference: First Night Portsmouth
Date of Release: December 27th , 2006
Pro Portsmouth Inc., in conjunction with the City of Portsmouth, will be sponsoring “First Night Portsmouth” events throughout the downtown area, to include fireworks scheduled for 7:30 PM in front of the Portsmouth Middle School on Parrott Avenue.
The Portsmouth Police Department will be conducting extra patrols of the city during New Years Eve, to include uniformed and plain clothes police officers. D.W.I. Hunter patrols consisting of Portsmouth Police and New Hampshire State Police will also be patrolling the city.
Parrott Avenue will be closed to parking and traffic beginning at noon. Pleasant Street from Market Square to State Street will be closed from 5:00 PM to Midnight. Church Street will be closed from Market Square to Porter Street. The High Hanover Parking Garage will have a flat fee of $3 payable upon entry to the garage from 4:00 PM to 9:00PM.
