On December 28th, 2006 at approximately 8:30 PM, the Exeter Police Department arrested the following individual as a result of a Portsmouth Police Department arrest warrant:
Jerome H. Stapleford
Date of birth 08/18/56
85 Watson Road
Exeter, NH
Mr. Stapleford was placed into custody by the Exeter Police Department and turned over to the Portsmouth Police Department for:
Theft by Unauthorized Taking, a Class A Felony.
Mr. Stapleford was processed at the Portsmouth Police Department, where he was held overnight on $75,000 cash bail. He was arraigned this morning at the Portsmouth District Court, and is currently being held on $60,000 cash bail. His next scheduled court date in Portsmouth District Court is January 8th, 2007.
This arrest is the result of an intensive investigation that began on November 7th, 2006, when it was discovered that a truck and a sander were stolen from the Aamco Transmission lot located at 3580 Lafayette Road in Portsmouth. The Exeter, Epping and Kittery Police Departments assisted Detective Thomas Hart in this investigation.
