Project # 6 Bartlett & Islington Area Sewer Improvements

Week of November 23, 2009
Night work will resume on Sunday evening 11/22. Albanese Brothers will be return to the south driveway to the Ricci Lumber Yard and will extend the sewer to Bartlett Street. (No work scheduled Thurs. or Friday) In addition there will be a crew working days at Papa Wheelie’s Bike Shop parking lot. A temporary entrance and driveway for Papa Wheelie’s customers is located off Islington Street at the North side of the building. Two steel sleeves (1 sewer, 1 drain) will be hydraulically jacked under the railroad towards Bartlett St.

Upcoming Work
After installation of sewer at the south driveway, construction of the drainage system will begin at the north driveway. Sewer and Drainage pipes will extend towards the railroad (see map below for current work zone area)


Project Description: This project is part of the City’s on-going Combined Sewer Overflow-Long Term Control Plan.  The project will include water, sewer, drainage and minor streetscape upgrades on Bartlett Street, Islington Street, and Jewell Court up through the old Department of Public Works site.  This project, required as part of an EPA Administrative Order, is part of The City’s comprehensive efforts to correct problem areas in the oldest sections of the City’s sewer system.
