Maplewood Ave and Adjacent Areas Complete Street,
Utilities, and Roadway Reconstruction Project

It is anticipated that the design for this project will include a comprehensive full road reconstruction and underground utility replacement in Maplewood Avenue from Woodbury Avenue to the Maplewood Avenue Bridge over the Route 1 bypass. The streetscape design on Maplewood will evaluate the use of "complete street" components to improve safe access for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and public transportation users of all ages and abilities. Also, the Cutts Street/Central Avenue, and Leslie Drive, and Fairview Drive neighborhoods will be areas of focus in the design, including utility and roadway improvements. The utility component will include replacement of water and review the need for sewer and drain improvements throughout the project area.

The Maplewood Avenue water line replacement project is recommended in the 2013 Water Master Plan and was planned in the City's CY-16 CIP (Capital Improvement Plan). Also, the Maplewood corridor is highlighted as a high priority in the City's recently completed 2014 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.

The lead contact for this project is Raymond Pezzullo, the City's Assistant City Engineer. Please contact him at 603-766-1755 or with any design comments or concerns. Comments will be coordinated with the City's consulting design engineering team led by Greenman-Pedersen, Inc.
