Inspection of Peirce Island Road Bridge Occurring Tuesday, June 19th

June 19, 2018

The Department of Public Works has announced that a routine inspection of the existing Peirce Island Road Bridge will be conducted on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. This is a planned, non-emergency inspection and will involve a visual inspection of components of the bridge including the base, deck, railing system and above-water portions of the abutments and piers.

The inspection will be conducted using an under-bridge inspection vehicle, occupying one lane of the bridge for the majority of the inspection. This will limit vehicles to a single lane of alternating one-way traffic across the bridge on this day. Traffic flaggers will be present on either end of the bridge to direct traffic. Users of the bridge should expect minor delays during this time.

For more information on this inspection you can contact Terry Desmarais, P.E, City Engineer, at 603-766-1421 or tldesmarais@cityofportsmouth.com.
