Requirements: |
New Hampshire Certification or eligible for certification
Must meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements
Extensive experience with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and
variety of developmental disabilities necessary in order to provide direct
instruction, and staff support.
Knowledge of Literacy Across the Content Areas
Familiar with Portsmouth School District and district
wide initiatives of personalized education and a focus on literacy
across the content areas all within a framework of curriculum,
instruction, assessment, professional development and
community |
Responsibilities: |
Develop and modify programs for students on the spectrum and with
developmental disabilities, serve as case manager, provide and gather materials,
schedule and facilitate meetings, train substitutes, troubleshoot problems, gather
resource information, observe students, provide direct instruction, act as school
liaison with outside agencies.
Must possess the ability to work in a collaborative team environment and promote, develop, and enhance effective teamwork within the school and larger community.
Have general knowledge of special education laws and all handicapping conditions as identified in the State of New Hampshire rules for the Education of Children with Disabilities.
Perform related duties as assigned by the Coordinator, Principal and/or Director of Student Services. |
