Position Full Time English Teacher/Reading Specialist
Location: Portsmouth Alternative Secondary School
Requirements: Certification: Secondary English or Reading Specialist
New Hampshire Certification or eligible for certification
Must meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements
Classroom Teaching Experience
Knowledge of Best Practices in Adolescent Literacy
Knowledge of Best Practice in Classroom Management
Demonstrated ability to differentiate curriculum
Familiar with Portsmouth School District and district wide
initiatives of personalized education and a focus on literacy
across the content areas all within a framework of curriculum,
instruction, assessment, professional development and
community
Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for
instruction of students with emotional/behavior disorders
Salary: Per negotiated Teacher Agreement
