GARAGE LIGHTING REPLACEMENT PROJECT
December 18, 2008
PORTSMOUTH - The City of Portsmouth begins a two-week project Monday (Dec. 22) to replace lighting fixtures at the High-Hanover Parking Garage as part of a Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) energy-saving program.
The project will involve replacing 275 light fixtures in two phases, a move that is expected to result in an energy savings of at least 25 percent.
The first phase of the project will involve replacing 130 fixtures, or approximately 20 a day. The 40 to 50 spaces underneath those 20 fixtures will be coned off each day beginning at 6:30 a.m. As the work progresses throughout the day, the spaces will open for parking. Little disruption is expected for parking in the garage.
The remaining 145 fixtures are scheduled to be replaced in January.
