McIntyre Subcommittee Letter on Mcintyre Sketches Survey

March 25, 2021

McIntyre Subcommittee invites residents to view sketches, give feedback

The McIntyre subcommittee invites residents to weigh in on sketches of visions for this property in the heart of downtown. The latest designs can be viewed on the McIntyre Project webpage.

Click here for a direct link to the survey. We invite residents to give us feedback before the March 31 deadline.

In April, the city and development partner Redgate Kane agreed to negotiate changes to the site under an interim agreement. Redgate Kane has asked the city to give specific guidance on how to redo the project. The sketches are the result of a public input process that included a survey with 3,450 responses and the engagement of 177 residents working together in small groups to determine a vision for the site.

We welcome everyone’s feedback. The subcommittee has said consistently the vision for the site should come from city residents. Our urban design firm, Principle Group, has incorporated hundreds of hours of citizen engagement into a set of designs we hope will enhance our city. A Design Brief summarizing that input, as well as Portsmouth Listens citizens’ presentations of each group’s visions are at the city website McIntyre page. We hope you will take the survey and give us your advice!
