RENEWALS of existing Food Permits occur during the month of September for ANNUAL Food Service Permits, including Mobiles. Existing Permit Holders must log into their Viewpoint Cloud accounts and visit their personal Dashboard (under the "My Account" tab at the top of your page) to find the renewal application for their existing Food Permits. DO NOT CREATE A NEW APPLICATION if you are currently licensed with us.
Annual Food Service and Mobile Food Service permits must be renewed by October 1 to avoid late fees. Late fees accumulate at a rate of $100 per day.
Seasonal Food Service Permits may be renewed starting one month prior to the Seasonal start date of April 15.
How Does This Work?
ViewPoint Cloud is the software that powers the City of Portsmouth's new online permitting center. With this new system, you will be able to: submit an application from anywhere 24/7, monitor the status of the application online, and receive notifications via email as your application is reviewed and processed.
How do I submit an application?
Before you can submit any applications you must create an account for the site. When you register for the first time, you’ll need to access your email account in order to activate your ViewPoint account.
- Go to https://portsmouthnh.viewpointcloud.com
- Select the Health Department and click Explore.
- Choose Food Service Permit Renewal and then Select.
- Read through the permit requirements and click Start next to the application you’d like to complete.
- You’ll be prompted to log in. If you’ve previously registered on a ViewPoint Cloud site (here or in another town) simply enter in your email address and password.
If you’re logging in for the first time:- Select Sign Up.
- Enter in your email address.
- Enter in what you’d like your password to be.
- Once you’re logged in, follow the steps on each page to complete the application.
What if I don't have an e-mail address?
ViewPoint Cloud requires applicants to have a valid email address to get the most out of the platform, and to ensure proper record keeping. In case an applicant doesn't have an email address, you can use your mobile phone instead. For more information, check out the online Help Center.
Can I still submit applications in person?
ViewPoint is now our preferred method of receiving and managing applications. We do, however, allow in person applications for users if they need assistance filing their applications or if they do not have internet access at home. A kiosk with a computer in City Hall is available for your use.
When do I pay my permit fee?
The fee will be due after the form is reviewed by a staff member. You will get notice via email once your application has been approved. At that time, you have the option of paying online (by credit card) or in person. Paying online will save you a trip back to our office. Please note that if you choose to pay by credit card, there is an additional processing fee (this fee will already be included in the estimated fee amount).
How do I pay by cash or check instead of a credit card?
Once you’re notified that payment is due, you can come to the office and pay with a check or with cash totaling the amount listed on the application. Viewpoint will accept ACH payments (eCheck) for a small fee. NOTE: For Renewal applications - checks may be mailed to the Health Department. Please include the term “Food Permit” and your record (permit) number in the memo section of your check to expedite posting your payment to your account. Mailed checks must be postmarked no later than September 30 to avoid late payment fees.
