Building and Fire Codes Update
There will be an Informational Public Meeting about the Building and Fire Code updates on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 9:00 am at City Hall in Conference Room A. There will be a public hearing at second reading at the November 12, 2019 City Council meeting.
Chapter 12 (International Building Code & the International Residential Code), Chapter 15 (International Plumbing Code, International Mechanical Code, National Fuel Gas Code and National Electric Code (2017)), and Chapters 12 and Chapter 5 (Fire Code) (which reference the National Electric Code, and the International Energy Conservation Code), need to be updated to conform with the 2015 adopted state building and fire codes. You may view the following websites to review the 2009 and 2015 building and fire codes. Be sure to select the appropriate editions of the code you wish to review:

As with the existing ordinances, the code updates includes local amendments that are tailored to City. The local amendments to the 2015 Building Codes can be seen in the following documents:
AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 12 Part I, International Building Code and Part II, International Residential Code
AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 15 Part I, International Plumbing Code, Part II, International Mechanical Code, Part III National Fuel Gas Code and Part IV the 2017 Electrical Code.
Printed copies of all state building codes and local amendments to Chapter 12 and Chapter 15 are available for review in the Inspection Department Conference Room located on the 3rd floor of City Hall.
There are no local amendments to the adopted state fire code. Local amendments to the 2015 International Fire Code can be seen in the following document:

Printed copies of the state fire codes, the 2015 International Fire Code and the local amendments to the 2015 International Fire Code in Chapter 5 are available for review in the Inspection Department Conference Room located on the 3rd floor of City Hall.
