Planning Department Re-Opening Details June 2020

As of June 1st, City Hall will be re-opening with new security protocols in place in accordance with COVID-19 public health guidelines. Please call to schedule an appointment to review Planning Department files or to request a meeting with a member of the staff. Requests for in-person meetings will be limited to no more than one person at a time. We encourage anyone interested in consulting directly with a Planning Department staff person to schedule an appointment by phone or video conference.
Payments and applications for the Planning Department can be dropped of at the main reception desk at City Hall or mailed directly to the Planning Department 1 Junkins Ave, Portsmouth, NH 03801. Electronic applications are also required for all land use applications via the City's online permitting system. The City's land use boards (Planning Board, Site Plan Review Technical Advisory Committee, Historic District Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, and Conservation Commission) will continue to meet remotely via Zoom pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order 2020-04, Section 8, as extended by Executive Order 2020-5, and Emergency Order #12, Section 3.
