Maplewood Ave Downtown Complete Street Project
The scope of this project is to develop a “complete street” design for Maplewood Avenue between Congress Street and Raynes Avenue. This project is identified as a high priority project in the City’s 2014 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan and the goals are to enhance the comfort, appeal, and safety for all travelers along this approximately 1/2 mile corridor. The project will incorporate sidewalk widening, on-street parking, street trees and street lighting and other streetscape improvements, addition of bike amenities, crosswalk improvements, travel lane reductions, signal upgrades, and other traffic calming measures as well as related underground utility work.
