City Seeking Input on Elwyn Road Side Path Project
October 21, 2020
The City of Portsmouth is working to complete a project to add pedestrian and bicycle improvements along Elwyn Road between Lafayette Road and Harding Road under the New Hampshire Department of Transportation’s (NHDOT) Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program (CMAQ). Based on Elwyn Road’s lack of pedestrian and bicycle facilities, the City was awarded a grant for this project and is working with CMA Engineers, Inc to complete the project design, which is proposed to construct a multi-use side path for pedestrian and bicycle traffic along the north side of Elwyn Road as well as to provide safe pedestrian crossings across Elwyn Road.
The City is now proceeding with the Engineering Study phase of the project. As part of this evaluation, the City will host a virtual public meeting on October 27, 2020 at 7:00 pm. to collect initial feedback from members of the public. Due to the current state of emergency related to COVID-19, this meeting will be held remotely only and members of the public may participate in the meeting by telephone and/or video conference via the Zoom platform.
