Portsmouth DPW Water Division Releases May 2021 Water Supply Status Report & Current Conditions

The City of Portsmouth Department of Public Works Water Division released the latest Water Supply Status Report on May 10, providing an assessment of the water supply quantity and quality available through the Portsmouth Water System. Water use generally increases during the summer months as homeowners start outdoor projects and irrigation. At the same time, the water recharge from rainfall decreases in the summer. Since May 2020, precipitation on the Seacoast was 12 inches, or 28 percent below normal.

Portsmouth DPW Hosts Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day May 22

The Portsmouth Department of Public Works will hold its biannual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Public Works facility at 680 Peverly Hill Road. Residents of Portsmouth, Greenland and Newington are encouraged to bring household chemicals for safe disposal between 8 am and 12 noon. Proof of residency is required.

ParkMobile Advises Users of Security Breach

The City of Portsmouth has just received notification that on March 26, ParkMobile, the app available to those who park in Portsmouth, became aware of a security breach in March linked to a vulnerability in ParkMobile's designers' software. In response, ParkMobile immediately launched an investigation with the assistance of a leading cybersecurity firm to address the incident. ParkMobile eliminated the third-party vulnerability, and continues to monitor their security and systems.
