City Announces Start of Hoover-Taft Area Drainage Improvements Project
June 11, 2019
On Monday, June 17th 2019, construction activity will begin on the Hoover-Taft Area Drainage Improvements Project. This project features construction of a new roadway drainage system on Hoover Drive and adjacent parts of Grant Ave, Taft Road, and FW Hartford Drive. The new drainage system has been designed to alleviate roadway flooding during heavy rain events.
Jamco Excavators of South Hampton, New Hampshire has been awarded the contract for this work. Specifically, work includes installation of pipe, catch basins, manholes, curbing, regrading of pavement, and reconstruction of the drainage outfall. Upon completion of drainage system improvements, all disturbed areas of pavement, sidewalk, and lawn will be restored.
Within the work zone, traffic will be limited to an alternating, one-lane pattern during construction hours (7am-6pm). Flaggers will be present to direct traffic. Motorists should expect minor delays. Access to homes will be maintained at all times and interruptions of utility services (water, electric, etc.) are not anticipated.
