Current COVID-19 Guidelines
Mask Requirement Lifted
Masks are no longer required in the library building.
This change reflects both the decreased rates of transmission in our county and the availability of vaccines for children under the age of five.
All decisions regarding service changes and policies at Portsmouth Public Library are made in conjunction with the City Manager, City Health Officer, Legal Department, and the library’s Board of Trustees.
We invite and encourage those who wish to continue wearing masks to do so. If you are feeling unwell or experiencing cold or flu symptoms, please consider wearing a mask or waiting until you’re recovered to visit the library.
Curbside Pickup
For those not comfortable entering the library, we will continue to offer Curbside Pickup on demand - feel free to call the library at (603) 427-1540 if you have items on hold you’d like to pick up outside.
Not sure what to read next? Ask us for a personalized book bundle!
Please note that you may check how many people are currently in the library building - view our current occupancy here!
