Craft Retreat, January 3 - 5
December 1, 2024
The Craft Retreat is a 3-day event from Friday to Sunday on Jan 3-5. Each class is a crafty how-to taught by members of Portsmouth Public Library Staff!
Please feel free to sign up for one, two, three, or as many of the programs as you like. The schedule is as follows:
Friday Jan 3:
10AM-12PM: Knolling Workshop Sign Up Here.
Knolling is simply the process of arranging objects so they are parallel or at 90-degree angles. It helps keep everything organized and when photographed creates clean, noticeable images. We will be creating shadow boxes of found items and organizing the items by knolling. Materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own small items to add to your shadow box!
12-2PM: Free time. The Levenson room will be set up for Hygge and you may walk downtown or bring a lunch during this time if you are staying for both crafts. The large break is provided so people may either continue working on their shadow boxes, or they can do a puzzle, color, or cozy up and read a book.
2-4PM: Art Journaling Sign Up Here.
Art Journaling is a relaxing activity where perfection is NOT the goal. We will learn techniques to use in our own personal art journals.
Saturday Jan 4:
10AM-12PM: Origami Workshop Sign Up Here.
Make a small cube box with lid followed by a modular square box. Excellent for storing small tchotchkes or as a small gift box.
