Levenson Community Room
Visit the Portsmouth Public Library Levenson Room during the month of June for an exhibit featuring stories and artifacts that illustrate the experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people and highlight their contributions to the rich past and thriving present of the Seacoast.

This exhibit is presented by the Seacoast LGBT History Project, founded in 2015 by Tom Kaufhold to research, document & preserve the history of gay lesbian, bisexual & transgender people on the Seacoast of NH with emphasis on Portsmouth. The exhibit will comprise stories from the Seacoast, compiled by Sarah Cornell, a display on Gay Social Movements by Brian Hussey, along with artifacts from the Project’s collection. This exhibit was designed by Laura Horwood-Benton.
The collections of the Seacoast LGBT History Project are archived at the Portsmouth Athenaeum. Selections will also be exhibited at the Athenaeum May 3 to July 6.
