Prayer Flag Exhibit, December 13 - January 10
November 22, 2017
Community Prayer Flag Display
Visit the Portsmouth Public Library between December 13 and January 10 to contribute to a prayer flag display in the lobby.
Traditionally, Tibetan prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength and wisdom. Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread good will and compassion for the benefit of all.
This interactive exhibit, created by students at the Gateway Taiji, Qigong and Yoga Studio in Portsmouth, has traveled to Safe Harbour Recovery Center as well as the Rye, Newmarket, and Hampton Public Libraries. Participants are invited to draw, write or sew their wish or prayer for 2018 on a fabric (5” x 7”) square. All materials are provided and as each square is completed, it will be attached to the flag.
