After a brief summer hiatus, Genealogy Workshops are back at the Portsmouth Public Library. We are pleased to announce the fall 2018 offerings! Presented by the library’s Special Collections staff and members of the Ranger Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), these events are free, open to the public, and appropriate for all levels of interest and experience. We hope you will join us on the third Sunday each fall month.

Using Bibles in Genealogical Research

Family bibles have been part of the domestic/spiritual landscape for centuries. Just because an event is recorded in a family bible doesn’t mean it’s the gospel truth. This lecture discusses how to locate family bibles and evaluate and analyze bible entries.

About the presenter: Pam Stone Eagleson, CG, of Kennebunk, Maine is a researcher, writer, and educator. She is a graduate of Northwestern University with a B.A. in sociology, University of Southern Maine with a M.S.Ed, and Tufts University with a C.A.S. in Museum Studies. Certified since 2005 by the Board for Certification of Genealogists, Pam is a former board member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the National Genealogical Society (NGS). She lectures on genealogy sources and problem solving.

Please note there will be no Genealogy Workshop held in December. Workshops will resume January 20 with a session on Researching Your House History with Marian Pierre-Louis!
