Portsmouth is Seeking School Board Members

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS FILING PERIOD

City of Portsmouth, Municipal Election – Tuesday, November 5, 2019
 
Filing Period
The Municipal Election filing period is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 19, 2019 and ending on Monday, September 9, 2019. 
 
Non-Partisan Offices
The Non-Partisan Offices of City Council (9 Positions), School Board (4 Position), Fire Commission (1 Position). And Police Commission (1 Position).  Declaration of Candidacy will be accepted in the Office of the City Clerk.
 
Requirements for Filing
Any candidate filing must be a qualified voter in the City of Portsmouth, shall have been a resident of the City for at least two years immediately preceding the Election, and may not hold any other Municipal Office once elected.  The filing fee is $5.00 or submittal of a petition with fifty (50) signatures of qualified voters in the City.
