Registration for Downtown Employee Parking Permit Program Underway

Registration for the 2018-2019 Downtown Employee Parking Permit Program is got underway on Monday, October 1st. This permit allows employees who work in Portsmouth’s downtown area to park at the Isles of Shoals Steamship Co. parking lot where 51 spaces will be available from Nov. 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the Parking Clerk’s office at 1 Junkins Ave. in Portsmouth City Hall.
Permits will cost $25 per month and must be renewed monthly. Applicants will also need to present a current pay stub each month to confirm employment at a downtown business.
Parking Clerk office hours are: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays; 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday; and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays.
