Parks and Greenery Department to host Arbor Day event at Community Campus Friday, May 10th

The City will also be celebrating Arbor Day on Friday, May 10th, from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Community Campus. Meeting Tree City USA requirements, the Parks and Greenery Department holds an annual event to observe Arbor Day and issues a proclamation. Mayor Jack Blalock will read a proclamation and celebrate the occasion alongside community members, arborists and City staff. Additionally, the City and groups such as Cornerstone Tree Care, Northeast Shade Tree, Piscataqua Landscaping and New England Tree will celebrate the day by volunteering to care for trees in the area. Following the Mayor’s proclamation, participants will lead a public demonstration and discussion on techniques to hazard prune trees and improve tree health.
