About Our Classrooms

Our classrooms have a limited number of students so that we can focus on the individual needs of each student.  The block includes some direct instruction, some guided or individual practice, and some independent work time. Students are provided more independence as they progress through their time at Portsmouth High School.

About Our Courses

Study Centers are a time for students to learn about study strategies and positive learning dispositions. Students have the opportunity to develop their executive functioning skills and have time to complete some of their work for their general education courses. Depending on the needs identified in  their Individualized Education Plan (IEP), students may receive instruction and support in academics, social emotional skill building, language, post-secondary transition, adaptive PE, independent living skills, occupational therapy, and more.
