Mayor’s Update on McIntyre Project (Feb 11)

Mayor Rick Becksted announced, on Feb 11, the City’s continuing effort to resolve any disputed issues with its development partner in the McIntyre Project, Redgate/Kane.

To that end, the Mayor reported there was a non-public session of the City Council last evening which extended more than five hours in duration. Although the details of the discussion in that session cannot yet be discussed publicly, the Mayor stated that it is fair to characterize the result of that session as a unanimous determination by the City Council to immediately open dialogue with Redgate/Kane to resolve the apparent misunderstanding which has led to a threat of litigation with the City. 

The Mayor indicated that City administrative officials have already reached out to Redgate/Kane to set up the discussions which will be necessary to restore a good working relationship between the development partners.
