Portsmouth Skatepark Volunteers Build Pump Track -- A group of volunteers spent the weekend Dec 7, 2024 building a pump track, and rebuilding the dirt jumps and platforms at the Portsmouth Pit which is right next to the Portsmouth Skateboard Park at 305 Greenland Rd. Donations from Altus Engineering Charitable Fund, Neal Ouelett and Darlene Furbush Ouelett, and Severino Trucking Co. for labor and materials.

REMINDER: No motorized vehicles of any kind are allowed on the skating surface: no e-bikes, scooters, electric or one-wheel skateboards, electric skates, etc.
Now that the lights are installed and activated, the Skate Park hours are:
May – October: Dawn – 10 pm
November – April: Dawn - 8 pm
Please note that as a safety precaution so no one would be caught off-guard mid trick, the lights will begin to dim to (roughly 75% brightness) a half hour before the park closes and again (roughly 50% brightness) 15 minutes before the park closes and will be completely off at closing time.

Skateboard Park Project
The Skate Park on the site off Greenland Road (Route 33) will soon be a key access point to the new NH Seacoast Greenway Route (Rail Trail).
Funding for the Skateboard Park was included in the FY22- Capital Improvement Plan (page 76) for the FY24 budget. The proposed FY24-29 CIP (pg. 90) notes that FY24 Funding was completed in FY23 through a movement in the funding during the budget process. FY23 PPP reflects fundraising completed as of the end of FY22. FY28 and FY29 funding reflects the design and construction Phase II of the project.
At their April 17, 2023 the City Council voted to adopt a Resolution Authorizing a Bond Issue and/or Notes of up to One Million Eighty-Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,083,500.00) for Additional Costs for Constructing the Greenland Road Recreation Facility (Skateboard Park)
