Ukraine & Russia: Understanding the Conflict, Online, Tuesday October 10

Join us to gain a greater understanding of the conflict ongoing between Ukraine and Russia with an expert in Russian politics and society, Rebecca McGory. She will describe the history of Russian-Ukrainian relations and the events that led to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February of 2022 to contextualize the ongoing conflict.

Voter Registration at the Library, Wednesday October 18

The Office of the City Clerk and the Portsmouth Public Library invite you to register to vote or update your voter registration, at one of two voter registration sessions at the Portsmouth Public Library. Attend either of the two sessions on Wednesday, October 18 from 11 AM until 12:30 PM or Tuesday, October 24 from 4 until 5:30 PM.

City of Portsmouth NH Receives $460,000 Federal Grant for Bartlett Street Underpass Engineering Study

In a phone call to Mayor Deaglan McEachern on September 25, 2023, US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg extended his congratulations to the City of Portsmouth on being selected for the Fiscal Year 2022 Consolidated Rail Infrastructure and Safety Improvements (CRISI) grant program. The City applied for a $460,000 grant to cover the cost of the engineering studies necessary to reconfigure the Bartlett Street underpass and railroad bridge.

Summer Yoga, Tuesdays September 5, 12 & 19

We are pleased to extend our Summer Yoga classes through September 19 with a new earlier start time in September! We are grateful to have experienced yoga practitioner, Sage Clarke back to offer three additional free weekly yoga classes from September 5 to September 19 in the library garden!
