Sagamore Avenue Motor Vehicle Collision

On Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2:08pm, the Portsmouth, New Hampshire Police Department and Portsmouth Fire Department responded to Sagamore Avenue near Little Harbor Road for a report of a motor vehicle collision with serious injury.

 

On scene investigation suggests that the operator of a Honda Ruckus Scooter while traveling north on Sagamore Avenue (US Route 1B) crossed the center median and sideswiped an on-coming vehicle. The operator of the scooter sustained a serious head injury as well as other non-life threatening trauma. She was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital where she remains in serious condition. The operator of the scooter was not wearing a helmet. The operator of the other vehicle was also transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for undisclosed treatment.

 

Pending family notifications, no names of the operators is being released. As a result of this incident, Sagamore Avenue was closed for approximately three hours. The road is now open.
