Welcome to Portsmouth! In these times of cautious reopening, Portsmouth restaurants, shops and galleries are glad to see visitors returning to this historic seaport.
Many businesses are reopening, though with safeguards in place to protect the health and safety of visitors and staff. Restaurants can offer indoor and outdoor dining -- with appropriate spacing of tables and requirements that patrons and staff wear masks when not seated at their tables. Click here for a constantly-updated list of open restaurants.
The City has also made accommodations for restaurants to expand their outdoor seating in parking spaces in front of their doors. This, too, is a changing landscape. The Citizen Response Task Force is also working on plans to turn the City's Bridge Street parking lot into an outdoor performance/dining venue -- with all the COVID-19 precautions in place.
Portsmouth regulalry monitors "best practices" for protecting public safety -- and to keep the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Portsmouth low.
The Portsmouth Protection Plan is simple: Do your part – wear a mask, and practice physical distancing.
