Fatal Motorcycle Accident

On Saturday, September 3rd, at approximately 10:19 P.M. Portsmouth Police Officers responded to an accident involving a motorcycle and motor vehicle on Lang Road near Longmeadow Road. The operator of the motorcycle was injured and in need of medical attention. The Portsmouth Fire Department arrived on scene and transported the operator of the motorcycle to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital Emergency Room. Later that evening the motorcycle operator was pronounced dead due to the injuries. He was identified as Jack Tizzard, age 22, from Kensington, N.H.
The New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and arrived at the hospital to help determine the exact cause of death. Those results are pending.
The operator of the motor vehicle, a 16-year-old female, is cooperating with the investigation. She sustained minor injuries but did not seek immediate medical treatment. The initial investigation shows that the motorcycle crossed the double yellow line striking the motor vehicle and at this time there are no criminal charges.
The Portsmouth Police Department is looking to speak with any witnesses that may have seen the accident or witnessed the operation of either vehicle prior to the accident.
