Mayor McEachern Announces 2024 Winners of Annual Holiday Lights Contest
December 24, 2024
Once again, the Citywide Neighborhood Committee Holiday Lights Contest received enthusiastic support, with 25 Portsmouth residents participating in this annual event. A donation of $10 for each participant is being made to Gather, the Seacoast food pantry. Mayor Deaglan McEachern today announced the winners and has invited them to attend the January 6, 2025 City Council meeting for public recognition.
The top three winners are:
- Best Traditional: Brent Guillot, 32 Manning Street (Honorable Mention last year);
- Most Creative: Matt Beyer, 580 F.W. Hartford Drive (last year’s Kid’s Choice winner);
- Kids’ Choice: Craig Steigerwalt, 625 Lincoln Avenue.
“The Citywide Neighborhood Committee has done a great job of the Holiday Lights Contest so that it’s now an annual tradition and part of what makes Portsmouth a wonderful place for the holidays,” said Mayor McEachern. “Each year, so many families put so much time and effort into the displays and help bring holiday spirit to their neighborhoods and holiday lights to our beautiful City.”
The entries were judged by members of the Citywide Neighborhood Committee and their families.
Honorable Mention winners are:
- Heather Noucas, 87 Edmond Avenue;
- Ken and Amber Buttermore, 545 F.W. Hartford Drive; and
- Donna Figler, 114 Cabot Street.
The Committee has created a map of the Holiday Lights Contest entries so that residents can tour the lighted locations route by car, using this interactive map with the winners marked with green snowflakes and the honorable mentions in purple: portsnh.co/HolidayLightsWinners2024.
