Attempted Murder

On today’s date at approximately 10:12 A.M, the Portsmouth Police Department arrested the following individual:

Jasmine Henderson

Age: 32  

2755 Morris Ave. Apt. 2E

Bronx, NY

Ms. Henderson was arrested on the following charges:

Attempted 2nd Degree Murder (Felony)

Criminal Threatening (Felony)

Second Degree Assault (Felony)

Henderson was taken into custody on the above charges after the police department received a 911 call from the Sheraton Hotel reporting someone had been stabbed.  Officers arrived on scene and found Henderson in the lobby of the hotel where she was taken into custody.  The charges are a result of an on scene incident in which Henderson assaulted a 58 year old female employee of the hotel by stabbing her several times in the face, neck and chest area with scissors. The employee was a housekeeper assisting Henderson. The victim was able to flee the area and seek help.  The victim was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital to be evaluated for her injuries.

Henderson was processed and will be transported to the Rockingham County Jail.  Henderson denied the services of a bail commissioner and will be video arraigned by Rockingham County Attorney’s Office in the Rockingham County Superior Court as part of the Felonies First Program on Monday, March 19.
