Portsmouth Police Trading Cards, 6th Edition

July 30, 2024

Just in time for the start of the new school year Portsmouth Police Department announces the release of the 6th edition of PPD trading cards!

The 2024 series features 23 new photos and includes introductions for some recent hires and new assignments.  Each card features the officers’ name and photograph on the front and includes a biography and special message on the back. Many Portsmouth police officers carry them and will hand them out to those who request them.

Deputy Chief Michael Maloney is proudly poised in front of a Portsmouth Police Badge sign for his first card since becoming the Deputy Chief. The quote on the back of his card is a quote from Muhammad Ali, “Don’t count the days, make the days count.”

Patrol officer Sarah Kotz (who is also a crime scene team member) is seen lifting prints, while patrol officer Jeff Rohde is photographed standing next to a gentleman on stilts.

Police Explorers Executive Advisor Officer Will Mahoney appropriately dons hockey gear, since he participates in the Battle of the Badges championship each year to benefit.the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD).

Recently appointed Portsmouth middle school resource officer, Cassidy Rohde, has a charismatic smile while photographed in her new educational work environment.

All three PPD operational canines (K-9 Frankie, K-9 Crash, and Mason the Comfort Dog) pose with their handlers (K-9 patrol officers Bill Werner & Jack Maloney, and detective Rochelle Jones) and they also have their very own cards. K-9 Frankie’s message to you is: “Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen.” -Orhan Pamuk.

The goal of the trading cards is to create an opportunity for citizens to interact and get familiar with each officer who proudly serves their community.

To obtain a card from each officer, you can go to the police department, approach an officer on duty if the officer is NOT engaged in the course of their duties (responding to a call, during a motor vehicle stop, medical call, etc.) and ASK the officer for their card.  Public safety is our primary concern.  You can also write a letter to the officer or email an officer requesting their card.

If you have any questions about the trading card program, please contact community outreach coordinator/comfort dog handler detective Rochelle Jones at (603) 610-7503 or email: jonesr@portsmouthnhpd.gov

The trading cards were made possible by a community grant funded program.

Special thank you to Don Chick photography for the card production.

Thank you, stay safe.
