Woodbury Avenue Traffic Accident Update

On the evening of February 27th 2020, the Portsmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Woodbury Ave and Dennett St for a traffic accident involving three vehicles. The scene stretched out approximately 100 yards of Woodbury Ave, where one vehicle landed in the back yard of 221 Woodbury Ave. Members of the Portsmouth Police Investigative Division responded to collect evidence and process the scene.

The drivers of all three vehicles were transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Two of the three operators were treated and released that evening. 16-year-old Kevin Bowden of Portsmouth was transferred from Portsmouth Regional Hospital to Boston Children’s hospital later that evening, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on March 12th.

A full investigation was conducted into the details of the accident. No charges will be brought forward. We would like to thank all those who came forward as witnesses in the investigation, and the Portsmouth Police also extends our condolences to the family of Kevin Bowden during this difficult time.
