Portsmouth Recreation's Camp FUNSTUFF

Sign ups for Camp Funstuff begin Monday, February 3, 2025 at 9:00am for residents. 

Exciting experiences and adventures await at Camp Funstuff! Sports & games, arts & crafts, special presenters, swimming at the outdoor pool, and various field trips are offered each week. Camp is split into two age groups (Grades K-2 & Grades 3-5). Sign up for one week or all eight. NEW FOR 2025: The last day to withdraw and receive a refund from a week of Camp Funstuff will be Friday, May 16, 2025. After May 16, refunds will only be granted to participants if the vacancy can be filled, minus a $25 withdrawal fee. 

  • Grades K-5: Monday - Friday, June 23 - August 15 (No camp July 4). 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Connie Bean Center. $225 per week residents | $250 nonresidents. Week #2 is prorated for July 4th: $200 residents | $225 nonresidents

New! Portsmouth Recreation's Teen Explorers Camp

The Teen Explorers Camp is an evolution of the Recreation Department's popular Sports Camp. Grades 6-8 will participate in many of their favorite games & sports as well as explore local parks, beaches, hikes, and attractions. Four-day per week camp. Sign up for one week or all six.

  • Grades 6-8: Monday - Thursday, July 7 - August 15. 9:00am - 4:00pm

Location: Community Campus. $225 per week residents | $250 nonresidents

Portsmouth Recreation's Multisport Program

Portsmouth Recreation’s introduction to sports. Age appropriate games and sports will be played in a  fun and inclusive setting. This year camp will take place in two four-day sessions. Sign up for one or both sessions.

  • Session 1: Monday - Thursday, June 30 - July 3
    • Ages 3-4: 9:00 - 10:00am
    • Ages 5-6: 10:30 - 11:30am
  • Session 2: Monday - Thursday, August 18 - August 21
    • Ages 3-4: 9:00 - 10:00am
    • Ages 5-6: 10:30 - 11:30am

Seacoast Technology Workshops LEGO Robotics Camps

LEGO’s are the building bricks of fun in these educational camps. Children enrolled in both the morning & afternoon sessions can stay for a supervised lunch (lunch not provided). 

  • Morning Sessions: Monday - Thursday, July 28 - 31. 9:00 - 11:45am
    • Entering Grades 1-5: LEGO Robotics and Engineering: Using the latest LEGO robotics technology, participants will have an opportunity to explore the amazing world of LEGO(R) robotics and engineering. We will learn about gears, circuits, and computer programming as we design, build, and program a variety of different robotics and engineering projects. Over 50 different projects are available including motorized cars and walkers, remote-controlled tanks, and amusement park rides. Projects are available for all skill levels. Note: Participants DO NOT take projects home.

       

    • Entering Grades 3-6: Video Game Designer: Stop playing video games and start creating them! In this introductory class participants will learn how to program and create their very own video games. Using GameMaker software we will learn how to create sprites, objects, levels, backgrounds, sound effects and much more as we create several games that can be shared with family and friends! We'll create a multi-level, customized adventure game complete with zombies, potions, coins, trap doors, and so much more!  Participants will need a flash drive in order to save and take their games home with them. 

       

  • Afternoon Sessions: Monday-Thursday, July 28 - 31. 12:15 - 3:00pm
    • Entering Grades 1-5:  LEGO Robotics Master: Our popular LEGO robotics summer program returns! Participants will have access to thousands of specialized LEGO bricks including motors, sensors, and so much more! Then, using a laptop and kid-friendly LEGO WeDo 2.0 software, teams will create programs to bring their creations to life! Daily challenges will include amusement park rides, vehicles, animals, and much more! Many new projects will be available for returning LEGO Masters! This is a can’t miss one-of-a-kind program for LEGO fans!  Note: Participants do not get to take LEGO projects home.

       

    • Entering Grades 3-6: Minecraft Coding Club: It's been a longtime coming but Seacoast Technology Workshops is excited to launch our first ever Minecraft workshop! Using exclusive content only available in Minecraft Education, participants will  explore the fundamentals of coding within the Minecraft universe! Prerequisite: Participants should have played and have a basic understanding of Minecraft.

Chess Kidz Summer Camp

Embark on a journey through the strategic world of chess with Chess Kidz, where every move matters and every game paints a story. Whether you’re a beginner seeking foundational knowledge or a club player looking to sharpen your skills; this workshop, brought to you by the New Hampshire Chess Club, offers a unique blend of instruction and competition. Participants will work towards playing in a tournament on their last day. Grades K-6.

  • Session 1: Monday - Friday, July 14 - 18, 9:00am - 12:00pm
  • Session 2: Monday - Friday, August 18 - 22, 9:00am-12:00pm

Snapology STEM Camps & Workshops

Snapology’s Pop Culture Week: Pokemon, Roblox, Minecraft and even Taylor Swift! Interactive S.T.E.A.M activities are planned for this creative week. Ages 5-12.

Snapology’s Space Week: Packed with a wide variety of Star Wars & Space programs! Build robotic spaceships, make a Star Wars stop-motion movie and other out-of-this-world activities. Ages 6-14.

Snapology’s Engineering Favorites: From Combat Robots to Go Karts – build, race and modify super cool structures. Ages 5-12.

Coaches from Portsmouth High & Middle School bring you all things Field Hockey! Perfect summer camp for those who are familiar with the sport of field hockey and those who are picking up a stick for the first time. Open to all who have a passion for learning the game of field hockey.

New Logic Maine Science Camp

New Logic Marine Science Camp
An exciting marine science adventure where young explorers dive into the wonders of the ocean, gaining hands-on experience in marine ecosystem preservation. Campers will discover the mysteries of the sea with engaging lessons on Humpback Whales, Mako Sharks, Moon Snails, Water Quality Testing and more! Through hands-on activities, field experiments, and real-world research projects, budding scientists connect with the marine world like never before. Grades K-8. Portsmouth Youth Cheerleading Cheer Camp

Portsmouth-Oyster River High School Varsity Cheerleading coaches and athletes are bringing you CHEER CAMP this summer! All experience-levels welcome, including those interested in trying cheerleading for the first time. Cheer day will include a dynamic warm up and stretching routine, cheer motions, game cheers and jumps. There will also be the opportunity to learn how to stunt and tumble, with a focus on safety. Grades K-8. Fee includes a t-shirt.

Music Together of Portsmouth helps children learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence in the music of our culture, provided that their early environment supports such learning. Our Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement! Music and Movement for Infants, Toddlers, Preschoolers and the Grown-ups who love them!

The tennis program where kids play while they learn! Led by a USTA-approved coach, the Tennis in the Parks program will focus on developing the skills to serve, rally and play - so it’s perfect for beginners and first-time players. We focus on FUN and learning the basics through play. This program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets and the latest engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker. Max 8 participants per class.
