Water Supply Status Report August 5, 2021

Voluntary Water Restrictions Lifted

Over ten inches of rain fell on the Seacoast area of New Hampshire in July. This amount of rain has significantly reduced the 12-month annual rainfall deficit we had been experiencing so far this year. The weather pattern continues to show wet weather in the long-term forecast. This, coupled with the cooler weather, has reduced the water demand on the system. Additionally, the Pease Tradeport’s drinking water system recently received approval to reactivate the Haven Well, which was brought into service on August 3, 2021.

Water Supply Status Report June 7, 2021

Voluntary Water Restrictions Implemented - The Seacoast area of New Hampshire is currently in Stage 1 of drought conditions with abnormally dry conditions. The current hot and dry weather is also increasing water supply demands. Therefore, the City of Portsmouth and Pease International Tradeport water systems are asking customers to voluntarily conserve water. If dry conditions persist, mandatory restrictions on non-essential water use may be required. They could include odd/even watering schedules. The following summary provides more detail.
