Motor Vehicle Accident - DWI Arrest
June 12, 2021On June 12, 2021 at approximately 12:37AM, Portsmouth PD officers were dispatched to the area of Bartlett Street and Cate Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. Units arrived on scene quickly and found a single motor vehicle in the roadway evidencing significant damage. The vehicle was found to be unoccupied and information developed indicated someone had fled from the vehicle prior to police arrival.
Portsmouth Police Basketball Tournament - Middle School Students
June 11, 2021This summer, the Portsmouth Police Department will be hosting two 3 v. 3 basketball tournaments. The first will be held on Saturday, June 26th and the second will be on Saturday, July 24th.
These tournaments are open to any Middle School student going into the 6th, 7th or 8th grades. The tournament will be free to the public and will be either single or double elimination, depending on the number of teams.
FY22 Budget Approved, ARP Funding Work Session June 14
June 11, 2021City Manager Karen Conard submitted a preliminary FY22 budget for the City in March, estimating $124,259,033 that included an unanticipated $1.65 million (20%) increase in the City’s required NH Retirement System contribution to the State. The final FY22 budget approved by the City Council at their June 7, 2021 meeting is $123,209,033, a 3.44% increase over FY21.

June 10, 2021At its May 26 meeting, the Citywide Neighborhood Committee (CNC) announced that after consulting with City Health Officer Kim McNamara, Portsmouth will join more than 17,000 communities nationwide to celebrate the 38th Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 (with a rain date of Tuesday, August 10.)

June 7, 2021Voluntary Water Restrictions Implemented - The Seacoast area of New Hampshire is currently in Stage 1 of drought conditions with abnormally dry conditions. The current hot and dry weather is also increasing water supply demands.
